Portugal shares higher at close of trade; PSI 20 up 0.40%

Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials , Financials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS: SONAC ), which rose 3.04% or 0.0250 points to trade at 0.8480 at the close. EDP (LS: EDP ) added 2.42% or 0.0730 points to end at 3.0930 and J. Martins SGPS (LS: JMT ) was up 2.29% or 0.2350 points to 10.4950 in late trade.
Biggest losers included The Navigator Company SA (LS: NVGR ), which lost 2.38% or 0.0880 points to trade at 3.6120 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS: BCP ) declined 1.44% or 0.0035 points to end at 0.2390 and Nos SGPS SA (LS: NOS ) shed 1.21% or 0.0650 points to 5.3050.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 15 to 14 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was up 4.65% or 2.79 to $62.85 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 4.16% or 2.14 to hit $53.63 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.60% or 7.50 to trade at $1251.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.08% to 1.1387, while EUR/GBP rose 0.55% to 0.8949.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 96.718.
