Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Utilities and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae (LS:YSO), which rose 4.03% or 0.0290 points to trade at 0.7480 at the close. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) added 1.93% or 0.1150 points to end at 6.0740 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was up 1.74% or 0.0300 points to 1.7510 in late trade.
Biggest losers included J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which lost 1.87% or 0.2750 points to trade at 14.4650 in late trade. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) declined 1.33% or 0.1750 points to end at 13.0300 and Semapa (LS:SEM) shed 1.27% or 0.1500 points to 11.7000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 22 to 21 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was down 3.39% or 1.65 to $47.08 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.37% or 1.56 to hit $44.79 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.34% or 4.45 to trade at $1312.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.1163, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.8493.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 95.96.
