Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Consumer Services and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 1.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP (LS:EDP), which rose 2.49% or 0.0680 points to trade at 2.8030 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) added 1.91% or 0.3000 points to end at 16.0200 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was up 1.67% or 0.0930 points to 5.6550 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonae (LS:YSO), which lost 0.58% or 0.0040 points to trade at 0.6800 in late trade. Semapa (LS:SEM) declined 0.42% or 0.0500 points to end at 11.7200 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) shed 0.09% or 0.0010 points to 1.1280.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 36 to 12 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was up 2.12% or 1.10 to $53.03 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.63% or 1.31 to hit $51.12 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.67% or 8.45 to trade at $1260.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.1149, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.9004.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.34% at 96.85.
