Portugal shares lower at close of trade; PSI 20 down 0.03%

Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods , Technology and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.03%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Ramada Investimentos e Industria SA (LS: RAMA ), which rose 2.08% or 0.200 points to trade at 9.800 at the close. Sonae SGPS SA (LS: YSO ) added 1.69% or 0.0150 points to end at 0.9050 and Mota Engil (LS: MOTA ) was up 1.42% or 0.0300 points to 2.1450 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Sonae Capital (LS: SONAC ), which lost 1.32% or 0.0100 points to trade at 0.7460 in late trade. Galp Energia Nom (LS: GALP ) declined 1.28% or 0.2200 points to end at 16.9500 and Semapa (LS: SEM ) shed 0.81% or 0.1400 points to 17.1000.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 14 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 0.18% or 0.15 to $81.11 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.55% or 0.40 to hit $71.88 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.51% or 6.10 to trade at $1199.00 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.1746, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8915.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 93.85.
