Portugal shares lower at close of trade; PSI 20 down 0.06%

Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms , Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.06% to hit a new 52-week low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Semapa (LS: SEM ), which rose 1.22% or 0.1800 points to trade at 14.9800 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LS: JMT ) added 1.19% or 0.1250 points to end at 10.6500 and Galp Energia Nom (LS: GALP ) was up 0.95% or 0.1400 points to 14.8600 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS: PHRA ), which lost 3.13% or 0.0056 points to trade at 0.1734 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS: MOTA ) declined 2.61% or 0.0420 points to end at 1.5700 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS: BCP ) shed 1.40% or 0.0035 points to 0.2465.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 15 to 14 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.33% or 0.22 to $66.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.16% or 0.09 to hit $56.55 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.97% or 23.60 to trade at $1222.80 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 0.74% to 1.1412, while EUR/GBP rose 0.34% to 0.8900.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.47% at 96.34.
