Portugal shares lower at close of trade; PSI 20 down 0.14%

Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials , Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.14%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP Renovaveis (LS: EDPR ), which rose 1.61% or 0.1400 points to trade at 8.8300 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS: GALP ) added 1.12% or 0.1950 points to end at 17.5900 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS: BCP ) was up 0.94% or 0.0025 points to 0.2684 in late trade.

Biggest losers included F.Rama (LS: RAMA ), which lost 1.96% or 0.200 points to trade at 10.000 in late trade. Ibersol SGPS (LS: IBS ) declined 1.96% or 0.200 points to end at 10.000 and Sonae Capital (LS: SONAC ) shed 1.86% or 0.0170 points to 0.8970.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 16 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 1.06% or 0.80 to $74.75 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.70% or 1.19 to hit $68.94 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.36% or 4.40 to trade at $1225.70 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was down 0.01% to 1.1705, while EUR/GBP rose 0.03% to 0.8917.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 94.26.
