Portugal shares lower at close of trade; PSI 20 down 0.96%

Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials , Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.96% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS: PHRA ), which rose 5.77% or 0.0090 points to trade at 0.1650 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS: ALSS ) added 2.56% or 0.2200 points to end at 8.8300 and Sonae Capital (LS: SONAC ) was up 0.57% or 0.0040 points to 0.7000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS: BCP ), which lost 2.63% or 0.0063 points to trade at 0.2336 in late trade. J. Martins SGPS (LS: JMT ) declined 2.17% or 0.2550 points to end at 11.4950 and Corticeira Amorim (LS: CORA ) shed 1.94% or 0.220 points to 11.100.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 21 to 5 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was up 0.04% or 0.03 to $84.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.30% or 0.22 to hit $74.55 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.24% or 2.90 to trade at $1204.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1509, while EUR/GBP fell 0.60% to 0.8789.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 95.39.
