Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Utilities and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.82%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which rose 0.90% or 0.080 points to trade at 8.940 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 0.65% or 0.0001 points to end at 0.0155 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 0.450 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which lost 2.11% or 0.1240 points to trade at 5.7450 in late trade. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 1.96% or 0.0050 points to end at 0.2500 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) shed 1.60% or 0.0500 points to 3.0800.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 34 to 10 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was up 1.18% or 0.61 to $52.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.98% or 0.49 to hit $50.32 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.10% or 13.95 to trade at $1254.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.43% to 1.1157, while EUR/GBP rose 0.36% to 0.8825.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.49% at 96.60.
