Russia shares higher at close of trade; MICEX up 0.09%
Credit: © Reuters. – Russia equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms , Manufacturing and Mining sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Moscow, the MICEX added 0.09%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were SG mechel (MCX: MTLR ), which rose 3.76% or 5.50 points to trade at 151.95 at the close. Polyus OAO (MCX: PLZL ) added 2.77% or 129.0 points to end at 4785.0 and Lenta Ltd (MCX: LNTADR ) was up 2.62% or 9 points to 352 in late trade.

Biggest losers included GidroOGK-011D (MCX: HYDR ), which lost 2.63% or 0.0230 points to trade at 0.8520 in late trade. MMK (MCX: MAGN ) declined 1.84% or 0.850 points to end at 45.400 and NLMK ao (MCX: NLMK ) shed 1.64% or 2.24 points to 134.20.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 112 to 105 and 22 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.

The Russian VIX , which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 1.62% to 16.440.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.13% or 1.70 to $1284.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $51.91 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.19% or 0.11 to trade at $57.99 a barrel.

USD/RUB was up 0.24% to 57.4352, while EUR/RUB rose 0.49% to 67.7391.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 93.30.
