Russia shares higher at close of trade; MICEX up 0.21%

Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Power , Oil & Gas and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX gained 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were Tatneft-3 (MCX: TATN ), which rose 3.97% or 14.75 points to trade at 386.50 at the close. Severstal - ao (MCX: CHMF ) added 2.83% or 23.70 points to end at 860.00 and Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX: MOEX ) was up 2.59% or 2.87 points to 113.87 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ALROSA ao (MCX: ALRS ), which lost 6.94% or 6.660 points to trade at 89.340 in late trade. Gruppa LSR PAO (MCX: LSRG ) declined 3.83% or 33.0 points to end at 828.0 and Gazprom PAO (MCX: GAZP ) shed 3.52% or 4.38 points to 120.11.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 128 to 74 and 12 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX , which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 1.92% to 21.480.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.08% or 1.04 to $1240.86 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.03% or 0.48 to hit $46.88 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.11% or 0.54 to trade at $49.38 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.30% to 59.0050, while EUR/RUB fell 0.69% to 68.0310.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 94.57.
