Russia shares lower at close of trade; MICEX down 0.49%

Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Power , Mining and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 0.49%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were Rostelecom (MCX: RTKM ), which rose 3.03% or 2.03 points to trade at 69.00 at the close. Detskiy Mir PAO (MCX: DSKY ) added 2.50% or 2.50 points to end at 102.40 and MTS (MCX: MTSS ) was up 2.18% or 6.25 points to 292.45 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Rosseti ao (MCX: RSTI ), which lost 5.28% or 0.0590 points to trade at 1.0590 in late trade. Aeroflot (MCX: AFLT ) declined 2.64% or 5.15 points to end at 190.00 and Severstal - ao (MCX: CHMF ) shed 2.38% or 21.70 points to 891.40.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 150 to 75 and 18 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.

The Russian VIX , which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.45% to 20.080.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.01% or 0.17 to $1310.97 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.93% or 0.47 to hit $49.88 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.88% or 0.49 to trade at $54.99 a barrel.

USD/RUB was up 0.41% to 58.3600, while EUR/RUB rose 0.51% to 69.8470.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 91.79.
