Russia shares lower at close of trade; MOEX Russia down 0.43%

Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas , Manufacturing and Power sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 0.43%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were SG mechel (MCX: MTLR ), which rose 3.92% or 4.30 points to trade at 113.90 at the close. Rostelecom (MCX: RTKM ) added 2.47% or 1.72 points to end at 71.42 and NMTP (MCX: NMTP ) was up 2.11% or 0.1350 points to 6.5350 in late trade.

Biggest losers included MVideo (MCX: MVID ), which lost 2.76% or 11.50 points to trade at 405.50 in late trade. Magnit (MCX: MGNT ) declined 1.41% or 68.0 points to end at 4750.0 and United Company Rusal Plc (MCX: RUAL ) shed 1.38% or 0.380 points to 27.060.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 97 to 91 and 17 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.

The Russian VIX , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 2.64% to 25.460.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.14% or 1.80 to $1304.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.52% or 0.34 to hit $66.08 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.05% or 0.04 to trade at $76.42 a barrel.

USD/RUB was up 0.51% to 62.8327, while EUR/RUB rose 0.52% to 74.0475.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 93.57.
