Russia shares lower at close of trade; MICEX down 0.27%
Credit: © Reuters. – Russia equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms , Oil & Gas and Power sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Moscow, the MICEX declined 0.27%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were NPK OVK PAO (MCX: UWGN ), which rose 3.91% or 28.5 points to trade at 758.0 at the close. Yandex NV (MCX: YNDX ) added 3.16% or 49.50 points to end at 1614.50 and MosEnrg (MCX: MSNG ) was up 3.05% or 0.0685 points to 2.3125 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX: MOEX ), which lost 3.07% or 3.25 points to trade at 102.50 in late trade. PhosAgro ao (MCX: PHOR ) declined 2.21% or 53.0 points to end at 2347.0 and Gazprom PAO (MCX: GAZP ) shed 2.14% or 2.71 points to 124.19.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 104 to 101 and 23 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.

The Russian VIX , which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.22% to 23.260.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.11% or 1.35 to $1251.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.19% or 1.08 to hit $50.43 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.19% or 1.15 to trade at $53.66 a barrel.

USD/RUB was down 1.36% to 56.8000, while EUR/RUB fell 0.74% to 63.566.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.61% at 97.17.
