Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Building & Construction and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.50% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which rose 2.87% or 0.156 points to trade at 5.595 at the close. Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) added 1.79% or 0.580 points to end at 32.920 and ACS Const. (MC:ACS) was up 1.73% or 0.450 points to 26.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which lost 0.67% or 0.130 points to trade at 19.260 in late trade. Viscofan (MC:VIS) declined 0.32% or 0.160 points to end at 49.635 and International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (MC:ICAG) shed 0.26% or 0.012 points to 4.685.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 125 to 58 and 30 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.21% or 2.80 to $1330.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.36% or 1.04 to hit $45.19 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.64% or 0.77 to trade at $47.60 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1151, while EUR/GBP fell 0.32% to 0.8373.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 95.73.
