Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Electricity and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.94%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE), which rose 8.50% or 0.390 points to trade at 4.980 at the close. Fenerbahce Futbol AS (IS:FENER) added 5.85% or 0.41 points to end at 7.42 and ICBC Turkey Bank AS (IS:ICBCT) was up 5.85% or 0.380 points to 6.880 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Trabzonspor Sportif Yatirim ve Futbol Isletmeciligi Ticaret AS (IS:TSPOR), which lost 4.32% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.330 in late trade. Bizim Toptan Satis Magazalari AS (IS:BIZIM) declined 2.02% or 0.14 points to end at 6.79 and Akenerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:AKENR) shed 1.64% or 0.010 points to 0.600.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 270 to 100 and 38 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.15% or 1.80 to $1232.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.33% or 0.84 to hit $63.98 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.50% or 1.09 to trade at $73.92 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.30% to 5.3584, while EUR/TRY fell 1.18% to 6.1135.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 96.17.
