Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking, Financials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Eczacibasi Yatirim (IS:ECZYT), which rose 6.56% or 0.83 points to trade at 13.48 at the close. Alarko Gmyo (IS:ALGYO) added 5.54% or 1.52 points to end at 28.98 and Dogus Otomotiv (IS:DOAS) was up 4.93% or 0.62 points to 13.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Turkiye Is Bankasi AS C (IS:ISCTR), which lost 2.79% or 0.130 points to trade at 4.530 in late trade. Saf Gmyo (IS:SAFGY) declined 2.53% or 0.020 points to end at 0.770 and Anadolu Cam (IS:ANACM) shed 2.53% or 0.050 points to 1.930.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 205 to 132 and 72 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 1.68% or 20.80 to $1214.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 3.57% or 1.37 to hit $36.97 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 3.84% or 1.55 to trade at $38.78 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.40% to 2.8277, while EUR/TRY rose 0.35% to 3.2203.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 94.70.
