Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Finance & Investment, Telecoms and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.50%, while the ADX General index gained 1.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR), which rose 4.35% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.920 at the close. Dubai Investments PJSC (DU:DINV) added 2.50% or 0.060 points to end at 2.460 and Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) was up 1.98% or 0.017 points to 0.877 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD), which lost 3.53% or 0.300 points to trade at 8.200 in late trade. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) declined 1.77% or 0.008 points to end at 0.445 and Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) shed 1.49% or 0.007 points to 0.462.
The top performers on the ADX General were Invest Bank AD (AD:INVB) which rose 14.98% to 2.380, Em Driving Co (AD:DRIV) which was up 8.82% to settle at 9.25 and Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which gained 5.56% to close at 0.570.
The worst performers were Finance House (AD:FH) which was down 9.71% to 1.580 in late trade, Gulf Medical Projects Co PSC (AD:GMPC) which lost 8.24% to settle at 2.56 and Sharjah Islami (AD:SIB) which was down 3.92% to 1.470 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 23 to 5 and 8 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 15 rose and 6 declined, while 8 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.74% or 0.36 to $49.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.74% or 0.38 to hit $52.00 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.07% or 0.85 to trade at $1233.15 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.57% to 3.9679.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.54% at 99.62.
