Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Finance & Investment, Insurance and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 0.18%, while the ADX General index lost 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR), which rose 2.00% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.530 at the close. Emaar Malls Group (DU:EMAA) added 0.69% or 0.020 points to end at 2.900 and Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) was up 0.50% or 0.004 points to 0.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN), which lost 4.00% or 0.026 points to trade at 0.624 in late trade. Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) declined 3.36% or 0.04 points to end at 1.15 and SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) shed 2.25% or 0.015 points to 0.652.
The top performers on the ADX General were Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which rose 13.89% to 0.410, Ad Natl Ins Co (AD:ADNI) which was up 10.53% to settle at 2.100 and Ad Commercial (AD:ADCB) which gained 1.34% to close at 6.79.
The worst performers were Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which was down 4.71% to 0.8100 in late trade, Buhaira Nat In (AD:ABNI) which lost 3.67% to settle at 2.360 and Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which was down 2.52% to 1.55 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 21 to 9 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 15 fell and 7 advanced, while 7 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.07% or 0.03 to $41.68 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.25% or 0.11 to hit $44.16 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1351.40 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6729, while EUR/AED fell 0.23% to 4.0966.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.17% at 95.75.
