Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were lower at the close on Sunday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Transport and Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.19% to hit a new 3-month low, while the ADX General index fell 0.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Emaar Malls (DU:EMAA), which rose 1.92% or 0.050 points to trade at 2.650 at the close. Takaful House (DU:DTKF) added 0.84% or 0.008 points to end at 0.960 and Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) was up 0.71% or 0.010 points to 1.410 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Deyaar Development PJSC (DU:DEYR), which lost 3.22% or 0.018 points to trade at 0.541 in late trade. Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) declined 2.42% or 0.011 points to end at 0.443 and National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) shed 2.20% or 0.040 points to 1.780.
The top performers on the ADX General were Buhaira Nat In (AD:ABNI) which rose 2.15% to 2.380, Finance House (AD:FH) which was up 1.74% to settle at 1.750 and Natl Bk Of Ad (AD:NBAD) which gained 0.57% to close at 8.75.
The worst performers were Nat Bk Qaiwain (AD:NBQ) which was down 10.00% to 3.42 in late trade, Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which lost 6.36% to settle at 1.62 and Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was down 5.41% to 0.350 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 23 to 7 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 16 fell and 5 advanced, while 4 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.72% or 0.87 to $49.57 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.60% or 0.84 to hit $51.67 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.47% or 5.95 to trade at $1258.95 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED rose 0.47% to 4.1155.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 96.52.
