United Arab Emirates shares mixed at close of trade; DFM General down 0.03%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Services , Consumer Staples and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Banking , Telecoms and Transport sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 0.03%, while the ADX General index gained 0.12%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were SHUAA Capital PSC (DU: SHUA ), which rose 2.86% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.080 at the close. Marka Pjse (DU: MARKA ) added 2.49% or 0.02 points to end at 0.70 and Amlak Finance PJSC (DU: AMLK ) was up 1.85% or 0.020 points to 1.100 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Mashreqbank PSC (DU: MASB ), which lost 5.41% or 4.00 points to trade at 70.00 in late trade. Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU: GNAV ) declined 2.01% or 0.030 points to end at 1.460 and ARAMEX PJSC (DU: ARMX ) shed 1.37% or 0.070 points to 5.050.

The top performers on the ADX General were National Bank of Fujairah PJSC (AD: NBF ) which rose 15.00% to 4.60, Ras Al Khaimah Poultry and Feeding Co (AD: RAKP ) which was up 3.03% to settle at 3.40 and Bank Of Sharja (AD: BOS ) which gained 2.50% to close at 1.230.

The worst performers were Foodco Holding PJSC (AD: FOOD ) which was down 8.51% to 4.30 in late trade, Al Khazna Ins (AD: AKIC ) which lost 6.45% to settle at 0.290 and Commercial Bank International (AD: CBI ) which was down 6.10% to 0.770 at the close.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 19 to 13 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 16 fell and 7 advanced, while 6 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 1.20% or 0.65 to $55.03 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.98% or 0.60 to hit $61.54 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.72% or 9.17 to trade at $1279.67 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.06% to 4.2757.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 94.51.
