Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Sunday, as gains in the Telecoms, Services and Banking sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Transport, Finance & Investment and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 0.03%, while the ADX General index fell 0.29%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which rose 9.34% or 0.076 points to trade at 0.890 at the close. Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) added 2.92% or 0.080 points to end at 2.820 and Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD) was up 1.71% or 0.140 points to 8.340 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA), which lost 5.08% or 0.06 points to trade at 1.12 in late trade. AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) declined 3.18% or 0.050 points to end at 1.520 and ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) shed 2.04% or 0.080 points to 3.840.

The top performers on the ADX General were Finance House (AD:FH) which rose 2.16% to 1.890, Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which was up 2.04% to settle at 0.500 and Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which gained 1.27% to close at 0.8000.

The worst performers were Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which was down 2.60% to 3.000 in late trade, Methaq (AD:METH) which lost 1.15% to settle at 0.860 and First Gulf Bk (AD:FGB) which was down 0.83% to 11.90 at the close.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 20 to 13 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 10 fell and 9 advanced, while 9 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $43.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.22% or 0.57 to hit $46.02 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.36% or 4.75 to trade at $1313.25 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED fell 0.78% to 4.0979.

The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 96.06.
