U.K. shares higher at close of trade; Investing.com United Kingdom 100 up 0.95%

Investing.com – U.K. equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Mining , Industrial Metals & Mining and Mobile Telecommunications sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 added 0.95%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Anglo American PLC (LON: AAL ), which rose 4.87% or 122.00 points to trade at 2,626.00 at the close. Fresnillo PLC (LON: FRES ) added 4.79% or 34.00 points to end at 744.00 and Antofagasta PLC (LON: ANTO ) was up 4.09% or 59.00 points to 1,503.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Standard Chartered PLC (LON: STAN ), which lost 3.00% or 19.00 points to trade at 615.00 in late trade. Barclays PLC (LON: BARC ) declined 2.29% or 3.20 points to end at 136.36 and Samsung Electronics Co Ltd DRC (LON: 0593xq ) shed 1.54% or 18.00 points to 1,151.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 1004 to 878 and 377 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.57% or 11.25 to $1,984.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.13% or 0.09 to hit $67.02 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.12% or 0.09 to trade at $73.06 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.80% to 1.23, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.26% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 102.98.
