LSEG partners with OpenAI to integrate financial data into ChatGPT

LONDON - London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) announced on Tuesday a new collaboration with OpenAI that will allow ChatGPT users to access LSEG’s financial data and analytics directly through the AI platform.

The partnership includes the creation of a Model Context Protocol (MCP) connector that will enable ChatGPT users with LSEG licensed credentials to analyze financial market data and news within the ChatGPT interface. The integration is scheduled to go live from the week of December 8, 2025, according to the company’s press release.

The rollout will begin with LSEG Financial Analytics, with plans to expand to additional data categories and functionality in subsequent phases.

"LSEG’s connector within ChatGPT combines all the benefits of a secure, enterprise AI platform with a seamless MCP connection and the unparalleled depth, breadth and quality of financial data, analytics, news and commentary that LSEG provides," said Emily Prince, Group Head of AI at LSEG.

As part of the collaboration, LSEG will also provide 4,000 of its employees with access to ChatGPT Enterprise to improve internal processes and productivity.

Ashley Kramer, Chief Revenue Officer at OpenAI, noted that the integration makes it "easier for customers to ask complex questions and move quickly with confidence."

The initiative is part of LSEG’s "LSEG Everywhere" AI strategy, which focuses on delivering licensed data to scale AI applications in financial services. The company has previously established similar partnerships with Microsoft, Claude, Snowflake, and Databricks.
